stimulus checks from the Gov

My associates and I work for an "essential" business. We are paid very well and many of us could retire. None of us have been laid-off from work during this crisis and yet many still received stimulus checks from the Gov. All of my associates received at least $2,400 ($1,200 per person, married) from the government. I, on the other hand, received $0 since my wife past away at the end of 2019. If my wife had still been alive at the time of tax filing, I would receive $2,400 instead of $0. This makes no sense, is unjust, and symptomatic of the irrational thinking that comes out of our government. But, this is not my real gripe. With 30 million employees out of work, so many small businesses closed and food bank lines so long, why is our government giving such large sums of money to so many that are still working in rather highly paid jobs or are retired? These people don't need or even understand why they are receiving the money? They will just be putting this new found bonus money in their bank accounts since there is nowhere for them to spend it now, even if they wished. Can our government and this Goldman run Treasury Dept. not think more clearly and honestly on how to best serve and help the people that are in need? They are at least careless if not criminal.
