Hey I have an idea. The government act in the interests of the people and be open and truthful from the beginning so instead of panicking, everyone has a good understanding of the real risks and how the virus spreads and causes deadly disease in some but is relatively harmless to everyone else. The government's goal was to use this as an excuse for the crashing economy, stock markets, bond markets, even real estate markets. Allowing them to save lives by un necessarily closing borders, implementing social distancing resulting in all non essential businesses having to close down.
We have now destroyed practically all of small business, all entertainment and recreation shut down, millions will be unemployed resulting in increased domestic violence,, thousands more homeless, crimewaves. Manufacturing has come to a grinding halt, and when all this combines with epic stimulus and bailouts, handouts and new welfare programs the massive inflation and a huge shortage of goods will combine with the affect of crippling price increases.
The people are being taught to fear cash because it will spread the deadly virus meaning we will soon all be trapped in the banking system suffering negative rates, bail ins and skyrocketing fees and penalties.
The virus quickly ended the massive protests going on all over the world, putting the whole world in a state of fear and panic so it welcomes the further loss of freedoms allowing the ushering in of real time survallance of everyone, allowing potentially infected people to be hunted down and placed under house arrest
Now getting back to the virus, yet another stroke of luck for the government's drowning in unfunded pension liabilities and pressure on the health care system, this virus is particularly dangerous for the elderly and /or immunocompromised.. It's true that essentially this virus has the appearance of flu in the way it's transmitted and the similar symtpms expressed.
However concerning several important vectors that relate to it's over all virulence, this new corona virus is on some serious steroids.
Here's what we have known about the virus for almost months now.
It has a long incubation period, and people are infectious for a significant period whilst being asymptomatic
This virus can live on surfaces for days instead of hours. It's spread when people cough or sneeze on other people or objects that people touch. Just like the flu.
What makes it 20 to 30 times more deadly than flu is is spreads much quicker and easier. It also seems to target a protein found in several different organs when in a disease state, particularly lungs.
Knowing all this I will now suggest an educated, sensible response to what is a particularly dangerous flu type virus.
You only need to do the same things you do for a regular flu outbreak but you have to do it better and take it more seriously.
Again the group at hi risk of serious disease or death are the old, sick or immunocompromised. Everyone else with very few exceptions will experience a mild illness much like the flu.
Of course there are exceptions. It was soon discovered that one of the factors that determined whether someone got a little bit sick or developed pneumonia and sometimes organ failure is the size of the viral load one is subjected when first exposed to the virus. The smaller the viral load that infects a person, the longer the immune system has to mobilise and attack the virus before it can replicate exponentially to levels high enough to overwhelm the immune systems leading to more serious life threatening disease. This is the best most logical explanation for the rare occasion a young fit healthy person developed a serious illness

For me there was no need to panic, we just needed to get familier with these facts and clearly honestly, calmly but still with a sense of urgency educate the people about the way it's spread and the hygiene protocol to keep the environmental viral load as small as possible. Having the effect of smaller initial exposures slowing down the time it takes to replicate to dangerous levels, therefore minimising the severity of illness for people of all risk levels. We also should have educated everyone and assisted them in ways to boost their immune systems.in the weeks leading up to it's arrival here.
So what of we acted like this. Instead of a scared panicking people confused about practically everything and not knowing what to do, the people through honest transparent sharing of all information as early as possible so they are empowered to calmly way up the facts and know what to do on there own. Nothing needed to shut down, no businesses needed to be ruined nor millions of jobs lost all at once.
People could have been armed with correct knowledge and know how to asses their own risk and the risk of others. Those that assess their risk to be unacceptably high are the only ones that need to isolate of they choose. If they don't isolate, they will be aware of the risk which is 100% on them, as through hygiene and healthy immune systems all those going to work and going about their normal lives will not be placed at any significantly greater risk Naturally nursing homes and jails would be off limits to everyone except necessary staff. These staff would receive some extra training and would also isolate to minimise the risk to the residence .
What a different scenario. A risk free vaccine free road to herd immunity without the need for tyrannical police states, panic and economical suicide that will prove to be more deadly than the virus
