Grand mother a full blooded Apache. She taught all us grandkids how to identify wild herbs. Vegetables, mushrooms. That are edible. And many many more things that are essential to survival.
Took my wife from colorado up home once in the spring and showed her some of the wild vegitation just growing along the rural roads. She was amazed at the variety.
